[Release Notes v0.8.0] Ragdoll System, Group Collaboration, Avatar Redesign & Bug Fixes

:loudspeaker: Studio Feature Update & Development Roadmap

Hello creators,
We’re excited to introduce new features, improvements, and bug fixes included in the latest update of OVERDARE Studio. Here’s what’s new:


:man_standing: Ragdoll Physics for Characters (New)

  • Characters now respond naturally using the physics engine when colliding or falling
  • Enables more realistic animations and immersive gameplay
  • Adds intuitive responses to actions like jumping, falling, or getting hit
  • Makes it possible to build physics-based puzzles or interaction-driven games
  • A detailed guide on how to use this feature will be shared soon

:busts_in_silhouette: Group-Based Collaboration (New)

  • Creators can now collaborate on shared projects through a group management system
  • Add team members with different roles to improve workflow efficiency
  • Real-time updates and improved development speed

:school_satchel: Backpack System (New)

  • Players can now collect and use items freely within the game using the Backpack
  • Tools can be intuitively selected, activated, or disabled
  • Detailed usage instructions will be provided soon

:teddy_bear: Nutty Avatar Update

  • The default avatar “Nutty” has been redesigned in terms of proportions, design, and bone structure
  • Nutty now has a more toy-like appearance, making customization more intuitive and accessible

  • Crash after importing skeletal mesh and entering Play Test
  • Crash in certain Climb scenarios
  • Tools occasionally spawning in incorrect positions when cloned
  • Crash when running PhysicalProperties.new
  • Crash when executing RegisterCollisionGroup
  • Infinite recursion → stack overflow crash
  • Crash when setting a Part’s parent to itself
  • Crash when playing with 2 players
  • Crash when inserting ParticleEmitter under attachment in Studio
  • Collision Group settings not syncing correctly
  • Specific characters in text label names not updating properly via Level Browser
  • Tiling issue when setting TextureId on MeshPart
  • Crash after removing a tag in Tag Editor following changes in Properties
  • Occasional crash when creating Particle Emitters
  • Surface GUI not displaying correctly in app preview
  • Crash when changing tag names inside tag detail view and assigning to group

OVERDARE Studio is preparing to welcome more creators via Early Access.
For now, development will prioritize:

  • Localization and language polish
  • Data logging
  • Stability-focused bug fixes
